We Handle Surgery at Our Facility, Recovery Care at Your House
You know what I wish more pet owners understood? Spaying and neutering isn’t just about preventing unwanted litters – though obviously that matters. But after 30 years of doing these procedures, I’ve seen how much health stuff we’re actually preventing. Uterine infections that can kill a dog in 24 hours. Testicular cancer. Mammary tumors that show up when they’re older.
Here’s how we do it: Surgery happens at our facility in Lantana. Modern anesthesia, proper monitoring equipment, sterile surgical suite – the whole deal. But here’s where we’re different from most vets – we handle post-op care with house calls. Your pet recovers at home where they’re comfortable, and I come to them for check-ups. No dragging a sore dog back into the car for suture removal.
Professional Surgical Facility
State-of-the-art setup in Lantana. Modern anesthesia monitoring. Basically everything you’d want in a surgical facility.
Mobile Post-Op Care
Recovery check-ups at your home. Suture removal in your living room. Your pet heals without leaving their favorite spot.
Why Bother Spaying or Neutering?
Look, I get it – surgery sounds scary. Nobody wants to put their pet through that. But the health benefits are real. And the procedure itself? Pretty routine at this point in veterinary medicine.
Health Stuff We’re Preventing:
- Pyometra (uterine infection) – I’ve seen too many emergency surgeries at 2 AM because of this
- Testicular cancer – 100% preventable, obviously
- Mammary tumors – spaying before first heat reduces risk by like 90%
- Prostate problems in male dogs
- Generally just healthier, longer lives
Behavior Changes You’ll Actually Notice:
- Less marking and spraying (your furniture will thank you)
- Decreased roaming – they’re not trying to escape to find a mate
- Less aggression toward other dogs
- Calmer personality overall
- Better house manners
Money Stuff Nobody Talks About:
- Prevents expensive emergency surgeries later (pyometra surgery can cost $2,000+)
- No cancer treatment bills down the road
- No surprise litters and associated costs
- Lower licensing fees in most areas
- Just cheaper long-term
What We Actually Do
We handle everything from basic cat spays to the trickier cases. Here’s what that looks like:
Standard Procedures:
- Cat Spay – Ovariohysterectomy, the medical term nobody uses
- Dog Spay – Same thing, just bigger patient
- Cat Neuter – Quick castration procedure
- Dog Neuter – Little more involved, but still straightforward
- Pediatric Surgery – Safe for young pets, usually 12 weeks or older
The Tricky Ones:
- Cryptorchid Surgery – When the testicles haven’t descended. More involved.
- Large Breed Dogs – Need proper anesthesia protocols for their size
- Senior Pets – Just need pre-surgical blood work first
- Pregnant Spay – Sometimes necessary, though we prefer not to
- Feral Cat TNR – Work with rescue groups on Trap-Neuter-Return
What’s Included in the Package:
✓ Pre-surgical exam (making sure they’re healthy enough)
✓ Modern anesthesia with constant monitoring
✓ Pain meds during surgery and to take home
✓ The actual surgical procedure (obviously)
✓ Post-op monitoring until they’re awake
✓ Take-home pain medication and antibiotics
✓ House call follow-up at your place
✓ Suture removal if needed (some dissolve on their own)
Add-Ons If You Want:
Microchip, pre-surgical blood work, rabies vaccine, other vaccines
How the Whole Thing Works
I know the unknown is the worst part. Let me walk you through exactly what happens:
Before Surgery: Initial consultation – we can do this at your house if you want. Health assessment, discuss the procedure, answer questions. Schedule the surgery date. Night before: no food after midnight. Water i’s fine until morning.
Surgery Day: Drop off at our Lantana facility in the morning. We give them pre-anesthetic medication to help them relax. Then anesthesia, monitoring throughout the procedure. The surgery itself takes 30-60 minutes depending on size and sex. Recovery monitoring until they’re awake and stable. Pick up the same day, usually afternoon or evening. We’ll give you detailed instructions for home care.
Recovery Time: Rest at home for 7-10 days. Pain medication as prescribed – don’t skip this. Limit activity and jumping, which is harder than it sounds because some pets bounce back fast. Watch the incision site for any redness or swelling. We’ll do a house call check-up around day 3-5. Suture removal at your house on day 10-14 if they’re not the dissolving kind.
Pricing – Because Nobody Likes Surprises
I hate when vets aren’t upfront about money. Here’s the deal: costs vary. Cat procedures cost less than dog procedures. Male surgeries (neuters) are simpler than female surgeries (spays), so they cost less. Size matters because bigger animals need more anesthesia.
We’ll give you an exact quote during consultation based on your specific pet. Not trying to be vague – there’s just a lot of variables.
What Affects the Price:
- Species (cat vs. dog)
- Sex (male procedures are simpler)
- Weight (size affects everything)
- Age (pediatric vs. adult vs. senior)
- Special circumstances (cryptorchid, pregnant, etc.)
Payment Options: Major credit cards, Care Credit financing, multi-pet household discounts, special rates for rescue/shelter partners.

Why We’re Different from Other Options
You’ve got choices in Palm Beach County – low-cost clinics, traditional vets, even mobile-only services. Here’s why people choose us:
Quality Facility:
This isn’t a mobile clinic or some temporary setup. Actual sterile operating room with proper monitoring equipment. Same standard I’d want for my own pets.
Mobile Follow-Up:
The big differentiator. Post-op care happens at your house. Check-ups, suture removal, everything. No stuffing a sore pet back into the car.
Experienced Care:
I’ve been doing these surgeries for 30+ years. The same vet does your consultation, your surgery, and your follow-up visits. Continuity matters.
Safety First:
Modern anesthesia protocols. Proper pain management. Clean surgical technique. Careful monitoring. And honestly, knowing when NOT to proceed if something doesn’t look right during pre-surgical assessment. Safety always comes before schedule.
